The Three Muses - Give Me a Head of Hair!

Todays theme gave me a golden opportunity to use this beautiful photo of my Aunt at the age of 10, in a 'Best Hair Competition' in 1924!
credits - altered paper serviette (unsure of source) for the background,
photo - thanks to my cousin who gave me permission to use it,
I did apply a filter to the altered b/g but cannot remember which one! Enhanced the colour in iPhoto, I did not alter things too much as I wanted the focus to be on my Aunt's hair.

  1. Phew Judy !
what a UNIQUE photo off your aunt !
And those natural curl's in her hair !!
I think that it took hours to wash - dry and style them for the contest. (By the way, did she won ?)
Also a big bravoo for the PERFECT choosen background.
    What a beauty !!

  4. What a treasure to have in your family album and what beautiful hair! Judy, I love the way you have treated the image. Your background is lovely but doesn't intrude on the most important part which is your aunt's crowning glory. Absolutely perfect and superb.

  21. Wow, Judy, this is fabulous!!! What a head of hair! I wish I had just a few locks of that wonderful mane. In 1924, I don't believe they shampooed as often as we do now. Maybe it was healthier than all the washing.

Thanks for your lovely comments on my blog, Judy. I have been away for almost 3 weeks and feel so out of touch with creating and blogging. I tried to do a few digital pieces on the road, but it's not the same as art one can touch.
