Sunday Postcard Art - 'Wish List' and Take a Word - 'Home'

Further down my blog you will see part one of this combined entry.
On my 'Wish List' was that the 29 miners would be rescued and returned 'Home' to their loved ones.  Unfortunately two more explosions have occurred and it is now the sad case of a recovery operation and with the continuing gas hazards and now a tunnel blockage, no one knows when this will take place.

  2. Wow, Judy...this is just so overwhelming. My heart goes out to the families of these brave men (miners are brave to go down below the earth every day). This is such a tribute, so heartbreaking, tho.

  11. Judy, this was such a tragedy and it has touched the world outside New Zealand. I read that one of the miners was a 17 year old boy on his first day at work. Out of all the horror and sadness, you have painted a magnificent tribute to those who lost their lives. Rather than read a few lines in a newspaper your illustration has made us all stop and think.
    Stunning artwork.
