'WISH LIST' and 'HOME' Early entry for SPA & TAW

When I saw the 'sneak peek' for Sunday Postcard Art's next challenge - 'Wish List'  my thoughts turned to the 29 coal miners trapped in the Pike River mine in New Zealand's South Island.   At the top of my 'Wish List' is that they will soon be rescued.  'Home' is the next challenge for Take A Word  so I decided to combine the two challenges and hope that the miners will soon be 'Home' with their loved ones.  As I write rescue attempts are thwarted by the high readings of hazardous gases in the mine and it is nearly 4 days since the explosion, everyone is praying for a successful outcome.

  5. Judy, this has to be your very best artpiece so far. It is touching, gut-wrenching and terribly sad but it also has great strength. The world has been following the tragic story with hope but it seems there is now little chance that the miners have survived.
I can't tell you how much this piece has affected me.
