Sculpture erected near Durban to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Nelson Mandela's arrest by the apartheid police.
Sculpture from an email, other elements from Anna Lemben, Sharing Tubes and SHC
My 'Out of Africa' quirky appliqué wall hanging I made back in 1996, a month ago I donated it to a charity shop (I wonder if its still there?) fortunately I took a photo of it beforehand!
The background is composed of two textures from Flickr, sorry no record.

I love both pieces, Judy. The contrast is stark and moving - a beautiful sculpture and an amazing wall hanging. Can't believe you have decided to give it away. It's a wonderful work of art and may one day be a very valuable piece for your descendants to treasure.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous work, my friend! Both are very inspiring!
ReplyDeleteyour hanging is a beauty, so many wonderful details!
ReplyDeleteI lov the Mandala piece too!!
the quote in the first piece is illustrated so perfectly! and the wall hanging is a treasure! not sure i could give it away, very generous! hope it sells for a good price!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, which charity shop, Judy? If I thought it was still there I would be on a plane to NZ. Your talents are many and varied and sharp as a knife ... that's a good thing. :D
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful wall hanging. I doubt it stayed very long at the charity shop before it was scooped up by someone who appreciated the vibrant colors and creative design. I enjoyed the sculpture as well, Judy...and the quote is so true.
