This is SO special! How interesting to "meet" your ancestor and to hear a bit about him. Your pages are exquisite, and I'm sure they'll be family treasures. This is going to be such a fun challenge!
Judy, this is such a beautiful and touching piece. How lucky you are to have this wonderful photo of your grandfather. His face is all goodness - a gentle man. Sadly, I arrived very late in my family and must have come as a big shock to my father (nearing 50) and my mother (mid-40's). I didn't know any of my grandparents on either side as they had all died before I made my entrance.
Ooooh wow Judy, your exquisite montage sent shivers down my spine, so special and such a family treasure.
On a lighter note I'm surprised to read that though your Grandfather was lucky enough to be born in (God's own County) he still settled on the 'dark' side. Ahhh, the War of the Roses still lives! Tee hee.
